years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Kimba’s Mark Evarts pictured the AAF’s Australian Director, Anne at AAF’s Melbourne event in 2005.
A very special man in Victoria made a commitment back in 2003 to raise $20,000 for Animals Asia. Two years later and he is well on his way! Through a series of live concerts and dance parties, Mark Evarts, is not only raising valuable money to support the China Bear Rescue but he is also raising awareness amongst a young crowd with a strong social conscience. The organisation Mark started is now called Kimba and more about their fabulous events in Melbourne, including the recent “Studio 54” and “She Tribe” events, can be found at www.kimbaevents.com.au
Mark was so inspired by Jill and her work that for her visit to Melbourne in April of 2005 he composed a song just for her. His beautiful performance of “I knew you well” left many people reaching for the tissues (including Jill!).
Thanks to Mark and all the Kimba Team for caring so much about animals so far away!
