Animals Asia Foundation, a US 501(c)(3) charity, is seeking a Director to lead the US fundraising and PR team and implement an effective fundraising and PR strategy aimed at increasing income, awareness, and support for Animals Asia's work in Asia.
Animals Asia Foundation, founded by Jill Robinson MBE in 1998, is dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect for all animals in Asia, with a focus on China and Vietnam. Animals Asia's two key goals are ending the cruel practices of bear farming and dog and cat eating. We are a grass-roots Asia-based non-governmental organisation headquartered in Hong Kong, with Moon Bear Rescue Centres in China and Vietnam. In addition to the US, Animals Asia also has independent, non-profit operations in the UK, Australia, Italy and Germany. We have 230 staff worldwide.

Develop and implement an integrated fundraising and PR plan for the US, aligned with Animals Asia's global strategy
Develop and achieve yearly income projections and budgets
Keep the Board of Directors appraised of activities and strategies
Ensure that Animals Asia remains in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and reporting requirements
Increase the effectiveness of regular direct mail campaigns and marketing events
Increase corporate sponsorships and grants from Funds and Foundations, be accountable on the use of funds and provide reports as necessary
Identify new donor segments and new marketing channels for raising income
Ensure the US database is being managed and segmented effectively to ensure optimum ROI in fundraising campaigns
Manage the Animals Asia's US website and other web media as a tool for timely information and donations
Increase awareness for Animals Asia through creating media interest
Be the key US representative to the press, donors, Foundations and other animal welfare organisations; be available for public speaking opportunities in the US
Report regularly to the International Fundraising Director on fundraising goals and activities
Attend and participate in annual planning meetings in Asia as required
Lead a team of three people to ensure high quality of work while maintaining a positive working environment
Genuine passion for animals
Marketing or business-related degree
At least three years proven results in the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy, preferably within the animal welfare sector
Minimum of seven years relevant work experience
Ability to lead, mentor and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve objectives
Excellent budgeting skills
Ability to set and achieve aggressive financial goals
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
This is a full time management position located in the US. The US office is based in San Francisco. The successful candidate has the opportunity to work from home if residing in another state with regular travel to the US Head Office.
Salary level: Determined depending on experience.
