years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Thank you to everyone who took the time to sign their name to our petition urging Ku-ring-gai Council to reinstate their ban on wild animals in circuses.
Thanks to your support, we are delighted to announce that on Tuesday 9 November Councillors voted 7 to 3 to reinstate the ban.
Special thanks to Mark Bond from the RSPCA NSW, Hayley Braban, Jenny Storaker, Beryl Anderson and Dr Alex Brittan who worked with Animals Asia on this campaign for three months – spreading the word, gathering signatures and addressing every council meeting with conviction and passion on why circuses are no place for animals.
Animals Asia, RSPCA NSW and Animals Australia have now put together a petition calling for a state wide ban on exotic animals in circuses in NSW.
