years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Running at 15 minutes, "China Bear Rescue....the beginning", documents the poignant and uplifting story of the arrival, rehabilitation and miraculous recovery of the first group of beautiful bears to be nursed back to health by the Animals Asia team at our Chengdu Rescue Centre. Recently updated to include the development of the sanctuary, the incredible rescue of the Tianjin bears, and how our work is beginning to have wider impact as news of the bear rescue spreads across China.
Directed and edited by "a bear's best friend" Libby Halliday and produced by our previous Head of Media, Annie Mather, the film has screened at over a dozen environmental film festivals around the world and won many prizes.
The film is available in 5 languages: English, Mandarin, Cantonese and German. A short 10 minute version is available in Italian.
