years ago this April, Jill Robinson first walked onto a bear bile farm. On that day in April 1993, Jill could have walked away, but she chose to act and do what she could. Today, you also have a choice. If everyone reading this donated just US$20, it would pay for the care of over 150 bears at our China sanctuary for a full year. Please help us celebrate 20 years of progress. Donate US$20 today (or whatever you can afford).
Bears rescued from bile farms arrive at our China sanctuary suffering terrible physical and mental
disabilities – bone-thin, often missing limbs or paws and listless from an array of ailments, including arthritis, peritonitis, ulcers, broken teeth, tumours and heart disease.
To ensure these bears have every chance of recovering and leading healthy, happy lives, they need
accommodation designed for their special needs. Our planned Double Bear House will have 12 dens that open out to two separate semi-natural enclosures, where the latest arrivals will be able to learn to be “bears” – running, climbing, swimming and wrestling for the first time in their lives. All the dens will be fitted with hanging-basket beds that the bears love to curl up in after a hard day’s play.
